Microsoft officially announced that it plans to launch separate applications for each mobile operating system to enable its digital assistant Cortana running outside Windows. Microsoft only provide an early look at these applications for Android and iOS, but the company noted that it would be able to make the same requests and inquiries, and using Cortana in Windows.

Cortana will be available for Android at the end of June, and for iOS – later this year. However Cortana for iOS or Android will not be as powerful as the version for Windows due to various integrations. Microsoft will provide updates of sports scores, flight and most of the functions of Cortana, which currently exist in Windows Phone and Windows 10 versions of the digital assistant. Cross-platform support Cortana is part of Microsoft’s plan to make all of its services and functions from Windows 10 available for all smartphones whether they are Android or iOS.
