If you work in an office or have other offices elsewhere, or allow employees to work from home, you should know how important can be teleconferencing. This is important for companies that have clients scattered across the country or around the world. It seems Google knows this, because the company is also preparing to provide teleconferencing tool called GMeet (probably short for Google Meeting). Details are still scarce, but it may be some side service, upgrading Hangouts.

Currently GMeet accept logins only by employees of Google. This probably means that the service is dogfooded – slogan used by Google for internal testing services. At the moment GMeet know too little, but the goal seems clear – sign in and have a meeting. Most likely there will be an option for voice and video, which will make a direct competitive GMeet of GoToMeeting and even Hangouts.

Google I/O is coming and it will be interesting if we hear more about GMeet.
